About Our Team

Megan became licensed as a family home childcare provider to help serve an overwhelming need in our community while raising her children. She studied at the University of Washington, where she became a certified project manager, and later studied at Warner Pacific University, earning a degree in organizational behavior. Megan has diverse experience handling contracts and grants for small public works and accounting functions of state and local government agencies and private construction businesses.

Her husband is her greatest sponsor, fishing companion, and weekend warrior of “all projects.” Together they have two young daughters.

Fun facts: She has traveled to 36 states and 13 countries. Loves music, laughing and hugs, gardening, ethnic foods, and hiking near waterfalls. Her life motto is “grace upon grace.” She emphasizes providing a safe place for children to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. She loves big, forgives quickly, and strives daily to cultivate a home of joy and calm. She loathes laundry!

April brings a wealth of life experience to her role as an educator, and we are blessed to have her on our team. After studying at Pacific Lutheran University and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education, April became a certified schoolteacher with a focus in Special Education. Most recently, she was the Director of the Castle Rock Classical Conversations community and has homeschooled all four of her children.

Married to her best friend, Ben, Pastor of Castle Rock Baptist Church, April is most passionate about her family. She adds value and balance to our early learning environment and brings a great sense of joy overall to our program.

Fun facts: She was not born in the USA. She loves to visit new places but does not like to fly. She knows enough ASL to secretly communicate with her family in public. Her all-time favorite foods are ice cream and coffee…or coffee in her ice cream!
